How Sharps are Betting Thursday NBA (4/25)
Must-Win Nights for Magic, Sixers, Lakers; all Down 0-2
Could be a night of great drama…or of three yawners if super-motivated series trailers rise to the occasion against visitors needing a respite from playoff intensity.
Let’s see how sharps have been betting that dynamic for Thursday’s tripleheader.
Cleveland at Orlando (7 p.m. ET, NBA Network)
Opening line of Cleveland -1 or -1.5 has flipped favorites all the way to Orlando -2.5. Sat for a long time at -2 before the more recent tick up. That’s a fairly classic play from sharps on the must-win team playing its home opener in front of what’s likely to be a rabid crowd. Some of these end up being absolute slaughters. And, even if it’s close most of the way, desperation hosts (as long as they’re not exhausted) pull out all the stops to avoid falling behind 3-0.
Sharps definitely were a part of early action…and probably LOVE Orlando at pick-em or better. Probably still some sharps on the Magic at -1. Public interest on the cheap, must-win home team is likely doing the heavy lifting above that. No resistance yet from dog lovers. Old-school dog lovers in particular have seen this situation enough to be cautious. Better situations will be available later in the week.
Opening total of 200.5 fell to early floor of 198.5 before bouncing back HARD to a current number of 201.5. Still rising in recent action. What’s going on? The first two games landed on 180 and 182. So…there’s a variety of ways to think 200.5 or 200 is too high! But, this particular situation could see things get a bit out of control. Both offenses are due to shoot better on treys (particularly Orlando). Might be some garbage time if Cleveland just punts. Sharps definitely arguing with their money here. Probably some public influence on the most recent rises. Recreational bettors thinking Orlando’s going to explode could channel that into side and Over bets.
